Greetings all I am going to build a 1944 john deere A pulling tractor this winter and I was wondering what some you A pullers out have done to give me an idea on what to do and how for I can go with this one such as bore and stroke head work and which cam to use and carburetor and so on. I have a set of 6 inch power block pistons which i would like to use.
I would like to get 60 to 70 horse power out of it
Thanks in advance

you will have fun findin a GOOD powerblock that has a good enough bore to stroke a tractor and still use them pistons. 65hp can be gotten with a 7.375" stroke and a 6.125" bore and a cam and a good A port and polish job on head and manifold. have heard the lp style johnson? intake works good..but never have tried one..
