Does This Rule Sound Bogus To YOU?

Just got my local county fair brochure in the mail today, and I went to check out the info on the tractor pull. Last year, the rules weren't listed in the brochure; it just gave a number to call for "more info." This year, there are 18 rules listed...ONE rule seems to be kinda bogus:

"17. Rules can be changed by Rules Committee at any time."

SAY WHAT??!?

This is a once-a-year tractor pull. If they reserve the right to change the rules "at any time," what's gonna keep 'em honest during the pull?

Or is this standard language at the pulls YOU attend?

We had a pull locally like that,, in a local class, percentage pull all the tractors under 5500 pulled, then, they added weight to the sled, and ran the tractors above 5500, and the heavy tractors won. Now, I got upset and paid for another hook to that weight of the sled for a new percentage, just to prove a point, and my percent was 50 percent higher than the winner of the class, went up and showed the main man, he said, we have the right to run this any way we wish, and we make the rules. So, yep, dont sound good to me!! watch out for funny business. Chad

Yeah...might explain why at last year's fair I saw a Co-op with chrome wheels and side engine covers--COMPLETELY covered, mind ya--pulling against obvious "straight off the farm" tractors in the "Pure Stock" class.
