I have a stroker crank for a wc-wd-45 for sale. Stroke is 6.375. Also have some big bore pistons for the same. 4.625.

How much machine work has to be done to the block and pan for this setup? Do you have to weld the liners into the block? Is there any clearance problems in the cam area? How many hours on the crank?

I put a 5" stroker in my WD this last winter and it worked out real nice. You need to keep rod bolts as short as posible with self locking nuts (ARP work fine)to keep end from hitting pan lip at the block. Looked like 5.5" would have went in with a little pan clearenceing.

With the 5" crank I did not have to grind or notch the block or the pan. You need to keep the rod bolts as short as posible for clearance. I am running 4.125" pistons with a 60cc dish and a CR of 11.5/1 and a reground cam set up for 2000 RPM. Motor puts out around 55-60HP. Very good reliable puller in the 3500 & 4000# antique classes in our club.

D-17 engine if the rules allow it is the cheapest route, but a potent combination, old gleaner combines had this engine, see an old gleaner combine, somewhere, stop n see if they would sell the motor. You can take the crank, cam, rods, from the 45-d-17 and put them in the wc block, with wc pistons makes a stroker. 1/2 inch I think,, cheap HP!! ChadS

Sorry CS, maybe BS, but 17 and E combine cranks have to large a main journal to fit in WC crankcase. I now worry about your IHC info.
