Does anyone know how if the valves in a heisler head for a B are any bigger than the valves in a stock B head. If so how much? Can you put a set of A valves in a heisler B head? Thanks

Wayne, It depends on which Hiesler head you are referring to. There are three "B" Hiesler heads. The first two have the same valves and are pretty much the same diameter as the stock head valves. They do have a larger stem diameter and are longer in length. The only thing these heads would do for you is gain a little compression as they both protrude into the combustion chamber. I have used altered unstyled "A" exhaust valves for intakes in these heads. The first head was for 38 and older tractors and the second for 39 and 40 model tractors. The third head does have larger valves than the original. I run a couple of these. One I have altered and have put in both intake and exhaust valves from an unstyled "A" in it. Can't really say I gained all that much with the valve and port work as I have a twin to this same tractor part for part and the head is a stock Hiesler and it seems to run just as good. I will say the Hiesler head is a big plus over the stock John Deere head. Dave W.
