Get a U. Less money for more power.

I want a lighter tractor than a U,something for classes lighter than 5000 also I like the idea of the ampli-torc.But a U is not out of the question What can be done as far as parts that interchange and how many cubes can be had? Thanks guys, Rich

A good 445 should pull in 3500#, but a 335 is smaller and lighter at least in the rear end. A narrow front will install easily with the right parts. Contact Welters Farm Supply of MO or Everetts MM of Ohio for parts. The 3.625" blocks can be replaces with 3.75" 220 blocks or even 3.875" diesel 236 block (very rare). A simple bore job like this could get you 236-250 cubes. I have a head chart I can send you if you e-mail me. It shows all heads and compression ratios for those motors. Locate some U302 Super LP manifolds and it will breath well. The exhaust manifold has two exit ports on it but one is blocked off depending on if the package was row crop or utility. So technically you could run dual exhaust with factory parts. The LP intake is separate from the exhaust keeping it much cooler and it IS much bigger than a 445 intake manifold allowing a bigger carburetor if you have the motor size to support it. As far as cams, stroking, valves, porting...consult the veterans on these. No reason a 445 should not whoop on a Allis WD. Feel free to e-mail me and keep me posted. I am putting a similar motor in a Twin City JTU with a M-M factory conversion kit. Good luck!

Ethan Thanks for the insight,I guess I need to find one first before I can start my education! I am pretty sharp with olivers but still learning with the minnemos. My brother bought a GVI last winter from Indiana,we pulled it last summer and have been pulling this summer also,Its a real sled wrecker. Runs on LP,we pull 6500 and up sometimes make 6000,She is going on a diet this winter maybe make 5500 next year,Brad Beggeman has been helping us with it,I love aluminum! If you have a spare moment I would like that chart any info I can get would be helpful. I live in NY,Molines are not as common here lots of Farmalls and Deeres though. If you ever want to chat or know of any parts, heads and manifolds(302 lp) let me know I will pay you a fair price. If ever interested in Ollies maybe I could help you out.

Thanks Again Rich Bennett
