I was told that the motor in my H was built for low or lower compression...but it kicks out 250psi at cranking speed cold. Anyone have any idea what the compression ratio would be? 11 to 1?..... thanks, AC

Sounds like,, it is not broke in all the way just yet,, could be the reason for uneven cyl pressures,,,, LOW compression my tail feathers,,,, LOL!! U coming to Westville? Chad

With those pressures, you gotta tune it very carefully, and listen for any "pinging" or detonation...!! Don't let it ping, or you will be building a new engine..!! Ron.

Cylinder pressure would be a better measurement than mechanical compresison ratio. You can take a modest 7 to 1 engine with a very short cam, have lots of low end torque, very little high rpm HP and require premium fuel. A 9 to 1 ratio with a long wild cam may have lower cylinder pressure, not require premium fuel and make decent high rpm HP.

Also, I worked with the valves today during my lunch break, and 3 cylinders are between 245 and 250. One is 275....They all are set properly...what gives?

The higher hole has better ring sealing than the others, or the others have slightly leaking valves, etc. 10% maximum variance is usually okay, so you're pretty close. I don't think I'd lose any sleep over it anyway.
