Finally, after all this time, I've sorted out what I'm gonna do with my 3 International trucks, and this is possibly gonna affect what I do with the H. Long story short, I'm gonna have either a 240 or a 264 engine to spare, and I was wondering if you'd email me and let me know what all you did to fit the six to your H tranny. The kicker is, if I do this, I want to try to use the H sheet metal by extending and modifying the hood to clear the longer steering shaft it'll take.

Also...any plusses or minuses in using the truck distributor, with the vacuum advance plumbed into the intake...or have you considered this?

Email me at buzzman72@yahoo.com .

Parts list:
460 flywheel, clutch plate
Super H clutch disk
H pilot bearing
H throw out bearing
460 bellhousing plate,, utility, and industrials work too..
You will have to re machine the flywheel, to change the starter ring from the 460, over to the H ring, then stock H starter can be used. Now, here is where you run into trouble,,,
the front frame rails,,, the H rails would have to be extended 10 inches or so,,, or just use 460 frame rails, they bolt right on the H bellhousing, and the stock front 6 cyl engine mount works with no alterations. otherwise,, been thinking of the H metal too with mine,, but,, the ol 460H is sitting quietly in the barn, waiting for another creative streak. LOL. other than the flywheel starter ring modification,,, it all bolts together. email me if you need any thing,, I have parts to build another one,,,,, LOL See ya. ChadS

I Know What I'll Call It in reply to ChadS, 08-19-2004 11:14:47
..when I get around to building it...

On the front of the hood, in the area where the circle with the "H" goes, my tractor will say:
"What the "H"?"

Yeah,,, What the H!!!!! ! Should be an attention getter,,, I think the next one I put together will be a diesil, with a turbo,, like we discussed before,,,, I like the 460-560 hoods though,,, I found a 715 diesil combine, and I found a old crawler with a turbo manifold and turbo. so looking at that for a while, in the future,, I have not ruled out the gas version I built,,, just need some direction on it,, will figure something out,, Chad
