im 20 yrs old and i own a farmall 450. i bought it 2 yrs ago and i use it on my uncles farm in yale MI.it runs and sounds pretty good, and it is in pretty good shape. last year i pulled in the 9000lb class because i was to heavy for the 6000lb class. in the 9000lb class i had a disadvantage in hp and weight. with rear wheel weights and rear tires loaded i was at 7800lb.are there classes for farm tractors that are not stock that my tractor would fall into if i were to increse hp. im new at this and would love to get involved in tractor pulling. i would really appreciate any help that anyone is willing to share. THANK YOU!

Joe, You need to get as light as possible to get in 6000 or 5500. Then you can pull at more pulls and compete better. Where did you pull the 9000 class? I belong to the TTPA and most places only have the 6000. Go to www.pullsite.com and check it out. It has some local rules and last years schedule for the Thumb. I,m only about 10 miles from Yale some guys are closer. Some even pull red tractors!! Jim

I pulled at armada. i started out ok, and was doing fine, and about half way through the pull i fouled a plug. i really dont want to strip it down because we us it on the farm.i weighed 7300lb with tires empty.it would take to much to bring me anywhere close to 6000lb.thanks for the reply!

Joe Mid-Michigan tractor pullers in Oakley has a 7000 pound stock class. Leslie tractor pullers has a 6500, 7500 and 8500 pound class. The Fowlerville fair has a class or two that should be suitable. Brown City may have a class for your weight. Don't forget the pulls at the Farm Museum in Goodells.

Good luck,
A.P.
