Installed the springs you recommended, timed it back the way it was, when running now, sounds like it is running under a load. Is this the way it should be now? you can rotate the dist counterclockwise a little, and it idles easier. I'm just a dumb bunny and need to know what I need to do.

Yep, turn it back counter clockwise and make it idle smoother. More than likely, your advance was sticking when the timing was set before you did this, and it throws the timing out a few degrees. Get a timing light and record it where you have it set currently. Then reset the timing, that will tell ya how much the advance was throwing the timing off when it was sticking. Also, take the cap off, and check the advance, gently turn the rotor by hand, and make sure it is moving properly, you will be able to turn the rotor a tad, and it should spring back all the way. What is the NAPA part number for that recurve kit? I'd like to get this kit for our Super M but NAPA up here in Canada needs a part number or more specifics on what Chev vehicle this is for. Any help would be great.

Any good parts store will have them, they are for a 75-86 hei distributor for a small, or big block chevrolet. Will see if I can get a # for ya, hope this helps a little, ChadS
