Did anyone see a 101 massey pull this weekend!
It seems the tractor stirred up some stuff with the locals. What's the scoop?

I was at bellwood too and think they should have pullers meeting and printed copys of the rules. I pulled the case sc and mm z in 4200. my club is near there and we pull the 3rd sat if we won't get rained out. We try real hard to run a fair pull for every one club menber or not but some times things happen and some one will get mad over some small thing but i guess thats tractor pulling. if any one wants directions i'll post them John

LW my dear you are correct!

Tire size was the issue, however Belwood is not really up on sharing the rules and regulations until after you have paid the entry fees and beat up on the locals then they share the rules and DQ you, if you place, otherwise it is smooth sailing.

This 101 puller is my husband and he finds it fun to take flathead motors and whip up on the overhead valve motors. My dad works on motors and that has taught me just enough to be dangerous. I will be pulling a 101 with a flathead later this fall, a woman and a flathead motor, I cant wait to hear there crying then.

I do know that those fellas at Belwood that were doing all the crying need a little more cameflouge. Its hard to hide a d-17 in a WC AC, at least the 101 had the original motor.

As for you "no one", it seems as if you like that cameflouge game too! Where is your nads?

LW if your the one that pulls the MM, weve met, and hopefully will see you again soon!

Hugs and kisses to the Belwood boys- see you next year! Oh the power of pink

Lorie

Being a massey man I have to come to the defense of an old 101... It would be pretty hard to make a 101 with a flathead run nearly as well as a very mildly built 44 with the OHV engine. I had one with 244 pistons and 8.0-1 compression and it made the same power on a dyno as my untouched 444.... Tell me there weren"t any M"s or 88"s or A"s or WD"s with piston kits pulling there and maybe there would be something to talk about... And as far as tire"s are concerned... Were the rules posted or just "known" by the "rules commitee"???

Do you have a super tractor? If so what is it and
where do you pull. Would like to know, if you
are a real puller. There should have been alot of DQS at that pull if every one was running stock. Do you know BG,if so he is a fair man and told the cry babies to take his winnnnn nings.
So who is the real man here. He placed 2nd in the 4200# and did not add weight from the 3700#
class! That is 500#s

He will be ready next time.

We'll sounds like ya'll might have a fine little super tractor if you wiped them that bad, that would be great we need more super tractors and less stock it makes a pull go by a lot faster! PS I am the one you met on the big MM.

Yes, The old 101 Massey was rescued from the barn
in southern Indiana. BG has a smile that goes
around his head, and does not stop smiling!
The tractor has not pulled in 19 years and might
be in some ways ahead of todays pullers.
The competition how ever might be alot for the old girl, but he will bring it back to todays
monsters. We are leaving to pick up another 101
SR. that has spoke wheels on the front and back.
WW 2 tractor 1943 and from what my man told me they used spoke wheels on ww tractors to cut back on steel. After looking at the tractor I have my pick of color. Pink is the color of choice,my man has a little problem with that, but I am the driver.

I do not think the belwood boys want to tell there loved ones that they got plowed by a pink
tractor, girl driver, and a flat head motor

We will be over for a few pulls before winter

I dont know if I know you or not, you may know my husband
It was never stated what the class was
At Belwood its whatever pays a hook charge
There was no pullers meeting and no restrictions
prior to pulling.
I feel like the restrictions are dependent upon how you pull. The locals have to shine.
Its all about fun anyway, my husband is indifferent if he comes home with a trophy, he was just happy to hear that flathead purr with a flame. Thats what its all about. The fellas that actually initiated the DQ wasn't even big enough to show their face, little men on big tractors is all that amounts to. My husbands case, big man on little tractor. Who wins in the end? We'll see next year.

Thanks for the conversation

Lorie

I WAS PRESENT AT THE PULL AND WAS AMAZED AT WHAT BABIES GROWN MEN CAN BE WHEN IT COMES TO WINNING A PULL. THE LEVEL OF JEALOUSY WAS OVERWHELMING AND EVENTUALLY BY THE END OF THE PULL RESULTED IN A DQ. POLITICAL. NOT. JUST A BUNCH OF SORE LOOSERS BEATING UP ON A GREAT GUY TRYING TO HAVE SOME FUN. I DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT MOTORS BUT THE 101 HAD A FLATHEAD ENGINE IN IT THAT WAS THE ORIGINAL ENGINE ON THE SUPER 101'S. THERE WERE VERY FEW TRACTORS AT THAT PULL THAT HAD THE ORIGINAL MOTORS, STOCK, IN THEM. I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS PULL NEXT YEAR, COULD STAND TO BE VERY EXCITING.

It must have been a 101SR with a Chrysler flathead, instead of the continental. ChadS

Nope. Not a Senior, they came out in 42 with the Continental.

Oringinal 38 101's (just called a 101) came out with a 201 Chrysler. In 39 they switched to the 218 Chrysler and called them the 101 Super. They stayed that way until 41, giving way to the Continental in 42.

THIS IS TYPICAL BELLWOOD WHICH IS WHY MOST PULLERS DON'T EVEN WASTE THE TIME BRINGING A TRACTOR .ME I WOULD NOT PULL WITH THEM IF YHE PULL WAS ACROSS THE STREET. NO RULES NO ORGANIZATION.

Yep, from 42 on never had the Chrysler in the 101SR, that may be the controversey in this case. Yes, the chrysler bolts into the 101 frame, even the big block chryslers do, 251-265 cu in. Rules at one time in our club stated that had to be original engine for that model. Now it is any factory replacement engine. No driveshaft alterations, and must be in stock mounting positions on the frame. In this case wit the massey, fits in under that rule, but for clubs rules that dont state it clearly, then it becomes a political situation. Been through this exact same thing with a 101 we built. I have pics of him pulling but do not know how to
post them. I do not think it was the motor size
that got him in DQ, it was the flame comming off
his muffler.
