I have a stock Super H that my wife pulls, It is getting tired and I have noticed blow by from the vent tube. I want to over haul it this winter, What do you suggest I do to it to make it pull in 2d gear at the pulls, it pulls in the 4000 class
I don't want to go to much.
Thanks Clif

You shouldhave your cyl head checked,, if it a 8043D/DD and has not been milled before,, .200 easy, if you mill it down all the way,, keep the thickenss of the head plate .250 or thicker. Anything less, may be prone to crack over time. all the other older cyl heads aint worth messing with,, unless it is from a Super H-350, if it is the OEM head on your Super H, it should be the 8043DD. it is an early version of the 350 heads, higher compression over the H, and was compatible with firecrater pistons. Consistanly in 2nd gear at 4000 you will need a minumum of 60-65 hp, also depends on tire size, and ground speed, and how much you want to put into the engine. A 350 kit has potential to make 55 hp with some good machine work in the right places, but not enough HP for consistanly running 2nd gear. Super H is a tad faster than a H in 2nd-4th gear. Best advice I can give is to put in a small stroker, or have big bore custom pistons made for stock stroke. ChadS
