a g with .125 pistons and a cold manifold should make around 52 hp with stock parts..much as i like jerrys parts i don't think the big manifold will help much with less than 500 cubic inches..if you can change the manifold without taking the head off try that on a dyno..make a carb adjustment and play with the timing to see what you get..if you can't get over 50 hp with a big nut carb i would pressure check the cylinders to make sure the valves are not leaking..lynn

What is the size of the larger intake diameter?

Todd is correct about removing .250. I would caution you that someone might have already removed some material prior. The cyclone head has the economizer eyebrow around the intake valves. If the head hasn't been cut, .250 will get you real close to that eyebrow but I wouldn't go any further. Any sharp edges in the combustion chamber should be rounded off to prevent hot spots. With your stock cam, your valves will have plenty of room between the pistons. I run a flat head, high lift cam, 1/16" head gasket and have .010 decked from the block and I have plenty of clearance.
As far as the manifolds, I would check with Detwiler to determine the diameter of the intake port. Jerry's smaller manifold has a 2" port. Whoever does your machine work to open the intake runner, be sure that they open the runner all the way down to the cavity behind the intake valves? Blending the opening with a die grinder part way down is not what you want. Not everyone is equipped to run a 2" end mill down a 6" long passage way.

You would help the ole girl out a lot by just putting a gas manifold on her. The high compression pistons are not being used to there max if you are running with the all fuel manifold. Also wouldn't hurt to shine the ports on the head and manifold. Good luck!

You can take off .250 off the head. The Jerry's manifold intake port will be larger the the intake in your head. I don't really see any advantage without matching ports in the head. Detwiler tractor has new cold LP style manifolds for G's (detwilertractor.com). You might also try roller rockers from murphy's motor service, I don't know how much that will help on a basically stock engine. All these are ideas that are not relatively expensive, or require a lot of modification.
