ken on the oliver 70 it has wet sleeves their not a press fit normally a little loose for the orings. the h and 560 are dry sleeves they are a press fit if they are loose enough to move up and down with the piston movement the vibration will eventually break the sleeve away from the flange at the top.

AND PEOPLE WONDER WHY THERE ARE NOT MANY QUESTIONS ASKED ABOUT ANYTHING OTHER THAN JOHN DEERE ON THIS FORUM!!!!! !!!
I have lurked around here for a while and it seems that some replies are to tell the person to go to the Farmall board or whatever brand. I will also admit that I don't read many J.D. posts on here, I am not interested in them. Most of them end up with someone P&Ming about a fellow named Burns. I think it is something that he still hangs around here.
Enough ranting, I will try to answer the questions:
I think you would be better of pulling the sleeve and putting a .005 or .010 thicker sleeve in. You should also check you sleeve hieght, the sleeve may be moving up and down and causing wear.
As for the head, I recall the one on my 560D is basically flat. In my opinion shaving it may not make much of a difference, If it is a diesel new valves and seats may get you the same results and it will start better. Decking the block may get you more but then you will have to take the motor completely apart.
Understand that I am definitely not an expert and have no firm reasoning behind my answer. For good advice maybe you should check out the farmall board if nothing better comes along.

Sorry for being so long

I 'M not sure about the 560 but on My H and my 70 Oliver the head holds the sleave in place when you put it back on the sleave should not move. BUT I HAVE NOT SEEN ONE . Ken

These engines are touchy anyway. The best thing to do is to replace the sleeve, If you don't it could end up in the oil pan!!! If it does't stick far enough up out of the block you will have to use a shim to get it to the right height. Chuck
