Hello,
Am new to pulling and just have a few basic questions about rules. My brother-in-law and I are building an A.C. WD-45 (gas) and will be pulling in probably the 4,000-5,500 pound classes in the Va. area (not really sure with which organization but would like for our tractor to be "legal" where-ever we might decide to go).
1) I think I understand the draw bar rule of min. of 18" from hook point to axle centerline and a max. of 20" high but is our "snap couple" draw bar legal (provided it meets the above) ?
2) Our tractor came with a tire size of either 12-28's (13.6) or 13-28's (14.9) so to run in the weight classes I mentioned what tire size do we run ? 3) What mods can be made to the motor ????
4) Do we have to run wheel weights or can we use hang on weights or we thought if it's legal we would use something like weight lifting weights ?
5) What rpm's can we turn (I'm real un-clear about this one as I have read many conflicting stories) ? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What area of VA are you in?I have copies of the rules in most areas and clubs.Alot of the rules are different but in general any factory hitch is OK,also most any hitch is OK at most places as long as its deemed safe.As far a engines go you'll OK
as long as you're not too wild..Some of the clubs still have the old 'all engines must be stock' clause but none I know try to enforce it or have the means to enforce it.Can't remember when I last
saw a 38HP M Farmall! If you have any questions I
can help you with give me an email if you wish.
