What would be the easiest, and/or least expensive, and/or best way to get about 100 horsepower out of 880 gas?

What would you do to the diesel to get 100 hp with stock looking and 10% over rpm limitations.

I pull an 880 diesel that is around 90 horse power with stock RPM. I have 3 7/8 MandW pistons. I had to machine the pistons and the head so they would work. I had the head and manifold ported and polished and larger valves installed. I got rid of the american bosch injection pump and am running the roosamaster off an 1800. I also have the injection lines and injectors from the 1800 with increased pressures. Running stock RPM it was dynoed at about 90 horse. Doing this will also leave ur tractor reliable. I take this tractor and plow with it at our local antique tractor clubs plow days. I am running it at about 3500 RPM and is very competitive in our local open classes.

Order up a set of Darton sleeves with either a 4 1/4" or 4 3/8" bore. These will require block machining to fit. The 4 1/4" bore will give you 340 cubes and 4 3/8" will give you 360 cube. Use stock rods but have the small end bushed to match the pin diameter of the pistons. You may have to offset the hole in the bushing to come up with the correct piston location at TDC. Get your cam reground or use a 1650 cam. Install larger valves and seats in the head. Get the head ported and match the ports of the manifold to the head. Pay attention to detail and tuning and you should be over 100 horse

Thanks for the replys. Where is the best place to get the sleeves and piston set. Also, can a good machine shop make the offset piston pin bushings?

depends on your rules some rpm plus bigger pistons will get ya there. limited rpm will need 5.5" plus stroke and 4.25" plus bore turbos and super chargers will get there also. if rules alow a 7 main block and head good place to start.Paul

We are only allowed 10% over rpms. How much can you stroke it without having to cut on block?
