Can anyone tell me about the heads on both my Super M's, casting number: 6336DE. Are they considered low, medium, or high compression heads? how do they stack up against the 8060DD heads discussed earlier in this forum. Also what is the cc of the chamber and about how much can be milled to increase HP. I'm thinking of removing the liners & adding high compression dome pistons to the engine. I need some advice on compression ratios, fuel octane, possible HP from the engine. Thanks, Mississippi Moonshiner

Well depending on what you want to build...
Personally, the 8060 head is a boat anchor. Work can be done to it, but why when you can go out and get a decent 450 head...For no stroke, farm stock pulling, I would think 175psi would be more than enough, especially of you didn't do any extensive flow work. Remember, compression will work against you at lower RPM's, if you don't have the big low end torque..

You can pull alot of HP out of just tweaking things like recurving your distributer.

I still have a good set of pistons and rings for that thing, and I bet you have the large pin rods, so it would all go together.

AC- what size piston where they 4.125? do they have a good dome on them, what do you think the compression would be? I do have the big end rods. It may be just the ticket. -Mississippi Moonshiner

4.125 " cast aluminum, 3.125" Compression Distance, .187 dome, Standard overbore for W6, SM, 400 etc....Brings compression to at least 6.0 to 1 or higher, but you will have to do some milling to get to to 9.5 to 1. These aren't SUPER COMPRESSION pistons, but a good combination of parts will get you some healthy HP, and compression. AC
