What brand or type of piston and sleeve kit do you recomend for my farmall 300. Is it advisable to run without sleeves, and what size piston could we use.

Pull out the 169 sleeves, and install 175 sleeves, bigger bore, and will go right in the 300 block. Firecraters are mainly what you get in most rebuilds, if you can find an old set of M&W's, would be good. Firecraters are good pistons. they create a good burn cycle in the chamber. Good for torque, and low end power. A 175 ci in engine, with 150-160 psi of compression, will be 45-48 hp with a good carb, and the ignition set correctly. Running without sleeves, I think the block is 3-3/4 bore, Ill have to check the sleeve barrel size to be sure, but I am almost 98% sure that is the bore. Hope this helps, ChadS
