I have a 656 with 282 diesel that I have pulled in stock classes for about 6 years. Never could win, closest was 4th. I think it's time to get serios , but don't know much about this motor. Does anybody know what I can do to get some hp ?
Any help is appreciated.

We have a friend who wants to sell his engine out of his farm stock 656 puller with or without the turbo, it is very strong and you can buy it for a lot less than you can build one like it, email us or call 920 295 3278 for his info(he doesn"t have a computer), Dale

I have a 282 in a 460 turbocharged 3 in intake balanced, turning at 3200, Roosa master pump with 310 plungers opened way up. I think the best thing for that motor is portin' and polishing the head. That motor is starved for air, and anybody I've seen turning heads at the track is getting air and fuel to these things big time. The biggest restraint on that motor is that it"s just a 4 bolt main. Too much room to wobble if everything is not just dandy! Migraine

Turn the leaf spring all the way tight if thats not enough put a larger head on the pump. Also you can put a turbo on it if allowed.M&W made a kit for these. These engines can turn allot of rpm.I have run as high as 3000 with mine.
