Cast iron vs. Aluminum piston

If the pistons were the same size and length, would there be an advantage to use one or the other type? I've heard some say that a cast iron piston would help with torque more than an aluminum piston, but most everbody with a modified tractor uses aftermarket or specialty aluminum pistons. This would apply to any brand of tractor. Your thoughts please

Having extra heavy pistons, flywheels or cranks to create torque is purely a myth. You only need things to be heavy enough for structural strength and to smooth out an engine. Anything more is just dead weight.

Lighter pistons reduce the stress on the rods/crank/mains/block if they are re-balanced.If not a harmonic(s) due to vibration can add up & break parts. Particularly vital if the engine is reved past it's "redline". Centrifical force & linear inertia increases four times when the speed is doubled. Nine times more force when the speed is tripled. Some claim "more" torque due to increased piston inertia but there is also more weight to accelerate as well.
