Got an idea to run past you,,, Seen Were looking for an idea on a rack n pinion. IH made a sweet set up on a Hydrostatic steering system, that uses hoses,, instead of Steering linkages. You find them on the 706-1456,,, or the IH late 403-915 combines. I used this set up for my 460, and instead of a rack, it has a cylinder for rack. I used a Ford power steering pump, and it has plenty of pressure to operate it, and the pump can be stepped up in the pressure line to set the desired feel in the steering wheel. Ididnt step up the pump, but sure is easy to steer! I have a scematic of how it is set up Id be happy to show u what it looks like! ChadS

wouldn't that be quite a bit heavier than a regular rack and pinion? trying to shed some pounds!
