I am thinking of building a number 3 CO-OP for the 3500 pound class. What can be done to this motor. I can build headers and intake manifold for it. Also Will be able to run a 1 barrel down draft carb as it was factory. Would like to run it 6,000 to 7,000 Rpm. Is it possible to do. Thanks Grinch

You had better beef up those axles right away. Seen a bunch of them twist even in the lighter classes on a tacky track. The 101 massey has better gears and stronger drive train. They also can get lighter. 3800 was the lightest I"ve seen a #3 co-op, 101"s in 3700 easy 3500 shouldn"t be a problem. Best of luck.

Yes, it can, but you better observe safty rules and regualtions turning a stock tractor flywheel that fast. If your talking about the 251 fltahead 6 Chrysler,, find a 265 crank, rods and pistons. drops right in the 251 block. Cams, for that rpm,, automotive cams work well at that rpm,, Mite have to find some good ol racin boys, from he old days to find some good stats on the 6 cyl. they do like rpm,,,, some automotive parts,, swap with the tractor bellhousing, as far as clutch parts and flywheels. We stroked a 265 chrysler this summer,, helped torque a bunch,, but not much on the big HP expected from a flathead. They dont breathe at low rpms,, like the IH 6 cyl engines. Cant bore the chrysler out,, .060 is the limits for all the blocks,,, any more,, and its junk. Look around for old doge and plymoth cars in the junk yards,, 39-55,, find alot of em in those years,, and some spitfire 265'S!! ChadS

You can still find aluminuim heads and log manifolds, I know the whereabouts of an Isky custom ground, REVERSE ROTATION camshaft for one of these engines. why reverse you ask? because it was made to be gear driven but nobody makes any gears or can explain how to reverse the oil pump. cause as soon as I get it worked out It"s going ina Wards I help work on.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hoildays

We used an Isky cam grind in this flathead,, and I agree! Good cam grind! They had aluminum heads for these???? Were the manifolds you talked about, updraft, or downdraft? What did the aluminum heads come on? Never knew they existed! ChadS

Offenhauser made the heads and the Log manifolds they were for 97 strombergs.Did you have the chain drive or gear drive cam? Do you have any idea how it worked if it was the gear drive?

Get on inliner international. org you can find all kinds of stuff for inline engines
