My brother is contemplating adding a turbo to his Farmall 560D. We have a turbo off a Ford 7710(approx. 3" inlet), is this big enough to bother with on the 560? If so will the oil pump on the 560 supply enough for the turbo or do we need to do something to supply more oil for the turbo? How about the injection pump, will we need a bigger pump or can the stock pump provide enough fuel with the addition of the turbo? Maybe this whole idea is just laughable. :) Any thoughts or advise? seems to me there is a 700 something series Turbo Gleaner that uses that same block. you should be able to get the fuel rate specs, BUT you should have an aneroid assembly type fuel pump to optimize your midrange fuel control. suggest finding a complete engine from said turbo gleaner, and use its major components, if not the entire engine. should be some hi-rise pistons available too for it. This i can say from some experience having seen a couple of them at pulls.
if you want to go aftermarket turbo, with your pump, the increased fuel settings will make it smoke like mad until you get to full boost, making it useless for farming. possibly your local pump shop can retrofit an aneroid assembly to your pump body
