What is the lowest weight class you guys have seen these tractors in. The 460 and the 560.
What weight class do they pull best in?
How light can they be taken down to easily, by removing parts and going pressed wheels, etc.?

Ok I guess I"m on my own except for 2 lonely responders on the 460- 560 question. NO other pullers have any input good or bad on this topic??? I know someone has to have some input.

Yes I have seen 460s in the 4000 lb. class real easy I used to pull a 560 and easily would get into the 5000 lb with wide front asnd all weight brackets ansd safety equip. I started with a 301 block and stroked it to a 340 360 is also easy with a 4 inch bore. I have heard of 389 cubes but takes al ot of massageing in the crankcse, cam and oilpump area.

I am not sure what else you are looking for. The other two gentleman answered your weight question. As far as what weight classes you pull it depends on your local rules, classes offered, how much you have to spend, what has already been done to the tractor and how much weight you want to throw around. A 460 usually make a very nice 4500-6500 pound tractor, assuming slow mph classes and a good TA and engine. I would recommend finding a 301 engine as a starting point if you plan on modifying the engine.

Good Luck!

You can get them into 3750, but you better have $$$$$$$$. Forget pressed steel....one word, aluminum. EVERYTHING you can make, fiberglass for everthing else. It's a job, but it can be done.
