Wondering if anybody is using the Armstrong Hi power Lug tires for pulling? I have a set of 16.9 38,s that have about 3/4 inch sharp bars road worn even and back. They are 6 ply and was thinking of mounting them on 16 inch pressd wheels and pulling them on a 560 Diesel. Better talk to the experts here first.

we have run armstrongs for years, 20.8x38 23.1x34--2 sets of 18.4x38s i think we won 18 or so classes last summer with arm strong tires , the long bar short bar has 11 moore cleats than a set of 151 firestones, plus the armstrongs are right at 6 inches taller, real good pulling tires

Migraine, I will weigh in with my two cents worth on this. As a general rule, the Armstrong/Titan tires are a softer tire to start with. However, like any other tire they can be made harder with age or hardening, although the process will likely take longer. They aren't used heavily in my area but in some areas folks love them. If they are hard I would probably give them a try, especially since they are the hard to find 16.9 size. They are also one of the lighter tires for their given size. That is why they cost less to begin with. Less rubber in them. Mike

The Trophies and the prize money (enough to pay for my tractor) I've won over the past 20 years tell me they are a VERY GOOD PULLING TIRE!!

At the county fairs in the great state of Michigan. Fair premiums ranged from $100 to $200 for 1st place. Have heard rumors that the fair premiums which were state funded were cut starting this year because of state funding reductions to county fairs.

I wouldn't give my worst enemy a set of armstrong tires for pulling. I ran a set of hand cut tires on my puller for a year and only liked them on 1 track, and that was a real loose sandy track. The rubber compound it was made out of was just way to soft for most all tracks around here.

All the people I've seen run Armstrongs have had really good luck with them. I'd run them if I had a set.
