sorry to see that they got squeezed out of Columbus that was a great pull. always looked forward to it afraid it will be "just another pull " now.I know I won't be traveling 600 miles to go to itwhen pulls are in full swing around here. I HOPE THAT IN THE FUTURE they can find someplace to have it in the winter again, was a welcome 'FIX TO THAT ITCH" IN the middle of the winter

Rate increases for use of the fairgrounds were upped every year to eventually squeeze the pullers out so auto companies and other groups could have more space to rent for their events. I guess the concept of "public" facilities is out. The purpose of a state fair grounds was to promote agriculture and support ag related activities. Since when were public facilities major proffit seeking ventures? That is for private enterprise. The pulling club could not cover it's costs anymore, not to mention insurance even with higher hook fees. That being said, I believe they are looking for a new location to do something in the Spring. Goodbye to my favorite pull for now. Dad and I made it a yearly event to drive six hours and stay just to watch the tractors go at it. Oh well. There will be more somewhere else. My two cents and rumor contributions fellas.

Welcome to USA where we us public funds so the politicians can profit from the funding.
If money grew on trees the same smart SOB's would own all the trees.

Maybe the club should put some good money into the pocket of an able & willing private facility somewhere. I figured that's what the real USA is all about. Don't mean to get political, but pulling around a pile of steel with old tractors need not require getting the squeeze from tax funded AG RELATED public facilities. As far as insurance, pulling is very safe. If you choose to pull, you are aware of the risks. It's not the facilities fault if you flip & crunch. But laws make it so. Try to keep the fun in it guys!

If you go to there site www.coatpa.com you"ll find there having the pull in May at the fairgrounds in Marysville, Ohio. It will be outside but will have easy access from the highway. Should be plenty of parking. I"m looking forward to it.

Mark
