I have an 830 in desperate of an engine overhaul. What"s the best combination to get some extra hp out of it without spending a fortune? Thanks.

Cam and followers from Robert's Carb, nail head machine the intake valves, multi angle valve job. De-burr the rough edges out of the ports and valve bowls, port match the manifolds to the ports. Dry aircleaner conversion, straight stack and full fuel rack. Machine the block so the pistons as close to the head as min spec allows. Install valve seat insets rather than sinking the seats grinding them. Dump a can of cetane booster in the fuel take and run an electric cooling fan instead. Put a switch on the regulator to open the field while pulling. Run synthetic engine oil and gear lube. Machine the rocker arm tips and valve ends smooth. When grooved with normal wear they fool the feeler gauge and the lash gets set too loose. Valve lift and duration is lost. It should now take the standard fast 1st gear full track in the 10,000 & 12,000 lb classes. Keep in mind it was designed to pull a plough all day running on as little fuel as possible. Not for going to the races.
