WE PULL MOSTLY WITH OTTPA PULLS RANGE FROM SILER CITY WEST TO HICKORY. WE PULL SOME WITH CATPA ALSO A GOOD ASSOC. ANOTHER GOOD ASSOC. WE PULL WITH RARELY ONLY BECAUSE OF DISTANCE DOWN EAST IS DUPIN ,THAT WOULD NOT BE THAT FAR FOR YOU. ANYWAY WELCOME TO NC WHERE YOU CAN PULL SOMEWHERE EVERY WEEKEND WITH A BUNCH OF GOOD PEOPLE.

What part of NC are you from? CATPA did several shows in Oakboro NC last year. You're likely to see some of us Union county pullers over there. Those John Deere Bs can be pretty tough when they get on a good biting track.

You'll be very close to Mr RP Tomlinson of Duncan NC, the president of CATPA. I've never been to a pull at Mr Tomlinson's but I have it on good authority that he has the best track in the area. That slow geared B might just be able to do some damage to some bigger more powerful tractors over there. Just be sure to put plenty of weight on the front, lol.

To be honest, I am not real keen on the rules that CATPA runs, seems like it is either Division II or Div IV. Is there anyone else near Raleigh that runs the equivalent of Div III?

Thanks,

It breaks down more like this stock=DIv2, super=Div5, farm Div3, this is a rough comparison go there web site for a look at the rules CATPA.net

Here's how I read it...
Stock = (Div II) 3.5mph 10%RPM, NO TA, Only top cut tires, no face cut tires (silly IMHO)

Super = (Div IV or V) Super (bring what ya brung) - No speed limit, 2500 RPM (doesn't matter if its a Oliver 88 or a John Deere D, 2500 RPM) Cut tires allowed, TA Allowed

Farm = kind of a crossbreed of Div III, IV and V - 10% over RPM, 15MPH limit, max 600 inches^3, classes start at 4500.

Welcome, CATPA is a very good club to pull with. The sled is as good as you will find, but heavy for anything under 3500 pounds. Although they do pull a 3000 class. I enjoy pulling with them and I hope to be there with a 1936 Case CC pulling 3500 super antique from time to time throughout the year..
