I don't pull tractors, but I was wondering what International tractors would be able to a Dt-466 truck engine in them. My dad works on buses and all have Dt466's on them. They sould like a good powerful engine. Would somthing like a 1456-1466 fit that kind of engine in it.

I am from central Pa and there is a guy in our area that put a DT-466 in a 560 and he then converted the motor to gasoline. He put an updraft airplane carb on it and it works rather well. Go figure, the guy somehow is allowed to pull in most stock classes in the area. No one is quite sure how he does it. Somethin' to think about .

Hmmmmm , I have seen this put in nearly every farmall available, 460,560,656,686,766,or any of the tractors that originally came with a 400 series motor. Easiest fit is the 966 thru 1566 or 986 thru 1586. 5488 Ih came with 466 from factory. 3688 thru 5488 would also take this engine easily. I also saw one in an M as odd as that seems.

rear engine cover off a 666 diesel(312) will bolt on the 466,then you can bolt it to a 460 through 666 rear.
it will bolt into a 06-86 series tractor from th 7 up with a rear cover from anyone of the 766-1586 tractors.
i think a 88 series has a different cover.
