Ever see the intake manifold gaskets, that have screens in them? Very fine screens that they say chop up the air/fuel mixture more, breaking it down farther due to more fuel being able to mix with the air. Turbulence in the ports can be a good thing, as long as it is not a restriction. Id say it helps torque, as well as a bit of hp in certain rpms that could stand a bit more mixture to fine tune it, and create a more stable hp reading. Dont try to restrict the air flow, just churn it up some,, more than what the tractor was not designed to do. More dense, and mixed air fuel ratio, the better power you will make. In some cases where you described on your Harley, it increased the vacuum level through the intake, requiring less adjustment to create the same conditions that cause a noticible change, at less turns of the idle, or the main jet. Does help fine tune, just have to know what to interpret, the changes that happens inside the chamber, plug colors, jet settings, etc etc. ChadS

I (hide) my nitrous bottle in the oil bath air filter and run an 1/8 inch brake line inside the pipe to the carb.

Oh yea' Thats what a "cool can" (any perf. catalog) does'. Aluminum fuel line spirals down through a can of ice. Dry ice, much colder works great.
