Can the 466 be swaped into the 4430 as well as the 4630. How about the flywheel--the 466 flywheel is retained is it not? Any other differences?

Yes, a 466 will bolt into a 4430 the same as a 4630. The 404 (used in the 4430 and 4630) and 466 have identical strokes and use the same part number crankshaft in many applications. However, the 4430 uses 4 flywheel bolts to the 6 used on 466 engines and in 4630s. Use the 4430 flywheel, as there are a ton of different flywheels used on Deere 400-series engines depending on the application. Powershifts take a different flywheel than Quad-Ranges, for example. You'll need to get two 1/2" NC plugs from your Deere dealer to plug the two unused holes in the 466 crank in order to prevent an oil leak.
