you have 2 choices. A, Use the overbore kit from the Super H (3-9/16 bore) that takes you out to 169 ci. Then, you will still have higher, stepped head pistons. And still run sleeves in the block. Plan B is to pull out the sleeves, and install 3-5/8 bore pistons from a IH 350 C-175. They will be firecraters in the new piston set for the 350, helps build torque, and a few HP. Hone the block and clean it out well. Now, when you pull the sleeves out, it leaves behind the sleeve flange groove in the block, you can either have rings made to fill in the gap, or run a 350 head gasket. The 350 head gasket can be used up to 3-13/16 bore, so it will be able to cover enough block surface to seal. It will over hang a little, .020 if that,, the piston is not near it so it will not hit the gasket. Id look around for a 300-350 head, and camshaft also. The rods will have to have wrist pin bushings installed to adapt the small 350 pin to the big H rod. Look for the bushings from the later 300's, which still had the big rod, and the small wrist pin. They sell the bushings, or I can make them. All this can be done while the block is still in the frame, head studs still in the block. Both kits would be about the same price for parts, so decisions decisions. Rouhly looking at 43-45 hp wit the C-169 set up, and the 175, around 45-48hp if you have the 350 cam head, and use the big carb on it if your rules allow, if not, you will have to rejet the small Zentih carb. Chad I may be missunderstanding what you are saying. But I don't think he can use 3 9/16 pistons in regular H block with sleeves without boreing.

That's what I thought too, till bout 3 weeks ago! They make a thin, and I mean, thin wall sleeve that took the H-SH out to 3-9/16 offered as an overbore kit, for the super H. It used to be, that the biggest overbore for the Super H was 3.5 bore. I ran across this bigger kit while looking through my catalog. Email me, and I ll show you where I found it. If I posted it here, Id be advertizing. ChadS

Sent you some pics of head I have acquired to your e-mail address, is this a stepped piston head? Do you have a 3 9/16" piston kit to work with it? Thanks

Its a firecrater/stepped head piston type cyl head. That means either firecraters, or stepped head pistons will work. For 3-9/16, the Super H overbore kit is all I have. Makes it a 169 cubes. That is a good cyl head you have, it is the new style cyl head. I would not mill it, looks shallow enough the way it is. Id say with that head, and either stepped head, or firecraters will do you justice. Should make 43-48 hp pretty easily. Are you going to run a Super H-450 carb? what cam? ChadS

What all is in your 3 9/16" Super H overbore kit? How much does it cost?

Havent thought about cam/carb yet, was more concerned about the inwards first, lol. Would cam make a big difference? Where would I find one? About how much they run?

What kind of carb would you recommend that wouldnt need much modifications? Would the stock carb hurt it that bad? Thanks again
