I need the total length on a Farmall M valve? I don't have anything apart to get a measurement. I also need the total length of a John Deere A and B valve??

Casepower, here are the dimensions for the John Deere valves:

Late B intake: 6 11/16" length, head 1 13/16", face angle is 29 3/4 degrees.

Late B exhaust: 6 29/32" length, head 1 29/32", face angle is 44 1/2 degrees.

Late A (and 60) intake: 7 7/16" length, head 2 1/4", face angle 30 degrees.

Late A (and 60 exhaust: 7 11/16" length, head 2 1/32", face angle 45 degrees.

Hope this helps. Mike

I forgot to include the stem diameter of the valves mentioned before. The A valves are .497" of both valves and the B valves are .434". Mike

I have a need for replacement valves for an old engine and since you seem to have valve size available to you, what valves and for what engine, would the intake and exhaust that have a 7/16th" shaft dia. and an overall length of 8". The valve faces could be cut down. These are for a 1902 Fairbanks Morse type "T" engine. Could have some made, but think some of the bigger engines might have valves close enough that they could be easily modified. Thanks!!!

Bob, I'm afraid I can't help you on that. All I have are John Deere specifications. Hopefully someone else on here may be able to help. Mike

Titanium is nice for the weight savings, but you will still need to re-work them to make them flow better...and match the seating area for improved flow, too...

The "All-Fuel" JD's used different length valves on the intakes, I believe...it could be a function of a different measurement from the use of a different seat angle, though..on them, I think it is 29 degrees, instead of the Gas 45degrees.. Properly massaged valves can improve breathing potential by 20% with the same cam..

Casepower: 1. I don"t have the specs on those valves, but I think the styled and unstyled are different. Also, at least on the Unstyled A valves, they use a double groove keeper and if you have to shorten them, you will spend more at the machine shop to buy the special tool than it would be to just buy the right valve.

2. If you do use the U/S A valves, and have to cut them to length, tell the shop you want to use 534 CI Ford V8 keepers - diameter is right and it is just a simple cut.

3. Can you send me the rules to the Circle T and the OTTPA clubs that are on your site, I couldn"t find them.

Thanks, Ray

I picked up some titanium valves and was looking for something they would fit. The rules for OTTPA are on www.ottpainc.com I don't have the rules on my board for either, just the schedules. They are at the bottom of the main home page.
