Been looking for a matched set of 15.5 x 38 uncut but road worn tires all fall and winter in central Illinois area. Are they this hard to find? May trade pair of 16.9 x38 for good ones.

Doug,

Thanks for the shout but pretty sure I came up with a set today. Armstrong - road worn from a set of duals. The guy wants $250 plus $40 dismounting but it is close to home. Sure have gone to a lotta sales and made a lot of calls for this hobby. Oliver 88 always pulled good with 16.5 tires but just need more places to play! Thanks

I would stay with the 16.9 x 38's in favor of the 15.5 x 38's unless your rules don't allow them or you just don't have the power to turn them. Most pullers (my self included) if given the choice will usually run the 16.9's instead of the 15.5's, the taller tire gives you better traction.

I have a set of Firestone 45 deg 15.5-38's.They are NOT the 23 deg everyone wants but I think they would do good.they have about 75 per cent tread.hard as a rock road worn, dry checked but not cracked. They also have a FULL 15-1/2 inch wide tread and are as wide as a set of 16-9's sitting next to them.
