Hello
just trying to figure out the best way to kill a diesel that doesnt have an electic fuel shut off on the pump. can i kill it with just an exhaust flapper on the air intake, or does it really need to kill the fuel to it. just wondering what everbody else is doing and what you think the best way to do it is
thanks
Shawn

The exaust flapper works great. Open the flapper, insert a cotter key thru the hold open hole, attach a lanyard or cable thru the eye of the cotter key and you are ready to cut off air supply.

Shawn, I recommend using a cutoff on the air intake, whether it is an exhaust flapper or a guillotine. Just make sure it seals off enough air that it will kill the engine. I do not recommend a fuel shutoff unless absolutely necessary, the lack of lubrication may damage the injection pump at high ropm"s.

I do recommend that anyone with an electric fuel pump include it in the kill circuit. In case of a fire or break in the fuel system, you will be awfully glad to ahve it.
