Just wanted to get some thoughts on this senerio. Has anyone bored out an M block to allow placement of 450 sleeves and pistons? Would you gain any real power unless you also replaced the M head with a 450 head or a least did some serious porting on the original head? What other things would have to be considered to make this kind of change to a stock M engine? In the end, would it even be worth the time, money and effort for non-competitive tractor uses?

What is the standard bore that you are trying to go to? Is it 4 1/4"? I have gone to 4.50 with Ford pickup 455CI pistons and sleeves. You would gain a little with the LP head, but all of the rest of the heads are about the same. I also used Chevrolet 6 cylinder valve springs. You also need to do a little carb. work.
