Ok pullers, I need help with this one!!! If pulling a basic stock gas tractor why would you need an electric fuel pump unless carb too big for engine or ????? There is one guy who pulls an Farmall M with a 450 engine and he says it will not run right without it. Another guy has a Cockshutt 40 with a 262 engine and claims the same thing. These engines are completely stock with no modifacations and pull at 10% to 20% over stock RPM for the make and modle of tractors. I beleave they are running too big or wrong carb or have carb screwed up. Would like to see what other views and opinions are. Maybe I'm off track and they are right or maybe they are shall we say, not stock and maybe stretching the rules !!!

If that engine is bored, stroked and souped to the ears. And it likely is. Fuel demand will be much higher. Or they maybe burning that 85% ethanol auto fuel to make extra HP. The stock sized needle/seat may flow enough fuel via gravity at stock fuel rates. With larger main jets, perhapes a few extra psi forcing fuel in from a 4 psi pump is required. In order to keep the fuel bowl up to the proper level? A leaned out engine looses power, runs hotter and is more prone to detonate.

So if your using a rubber line for fuel would it be possible to create enough suction to suck the line together???
