I just got my 720 Diesel running again and I got the cam ground at Berry Cams. I just told them that it was for pulling and I was running stock RPM. Came with a cam card, anybody know the specs for a stock 720 cam? Total cost with lifters resurfaced and shipping was 170 bucks. With all else stock and a .045 overbore it made 67hp on the dyno.

Does Detwilers supply a cam card with the specs and where to degree it in at? Do they make a custom cam for your engine or pull one off the shelf and wish you the best of luck? You say Detwilers is a big cam.....you dont need the super big bump 'n thump cam for your size engine. I have been told that Robert's has only 3 grinds, so who knows what exactly you are getting there, but there are people that like them.

I have several(many) cams done by Berry Cams in Lester Prairie Mn. with excellent results. Comes with a card with exact specs. Tell them what you will be pulling with your tractor, what your cubes are, valve size, comp. and they will find a grind for you. Cost is about 120.00. Had one done also by Dengler's in Ohio. They send it out to Californis to Swiderski? I think it is or something close to it. It was kind of pricey, but has excellent torque and they send you all the info. I would suggest Berry Cam. Give them a call and ask alot of questions-it's only the price of a phone call.

I second the Berry Cam suggestion. They will grind to the size of the engine and rpm desired. Their phone number is 320-395-2377. Good people to deal with. The other cam grinder I've heard about is Isky. Haven't used them myself but heard some good things about their cams in JD's.
