Can't beleive there are so many willing to help you cheat. That must mean that there are many more who do cheat but don't talk.

I have used the steel disc that you cut tires with to get the lug down to where you think you want it. Then smooth it up with a regular 7" grinding disc. Works best to do it in cold weather as rubber don't get as hot.

I cut my tires with a hand held planer. It took a long time but it got me 2 1st places before I got caught. Oh yah if you dont like that idea a buddy of mine chains the front of his tractor up and then spins his wheels backwards on pavement. Just dont; do it on to rough of pavement. Good luck!

Kris borrow or rent a hand held wood planner, it's fast, cleaner and really hard to tell it.
You can do back relief at the same time and if you are carefull can touch up the leading edge.
Had to sharpen the blade once, really works great.
Hope this will help,
Bob
Ps; make sure the tread is as clean as you can get it first.

my family uses a knife to get the first bit of rubber off, then a grinder to finish them(bring LOTS of extra grindin wheels cause they load up)

You'll be all right till you start winning. Then look out, they'll be on you like flies on a watermelon. But then again it's like that with any edge I reckon. Good Luck!

I used a chainsaw one time . The other time I bought used tires from the farm tire dealer . Actually he gave them to me so he didn't have to pay at the dump .

I have heard to tie the front to an anchor of some short and put it in reverse and let it spin on a hard surface
