I"m in the middle of putting my John Deere G back together, and I need a new set of head studs for it. John Deere doesn"t make them no more. The part # F579R is 3/4 10 thread by 8 inches long. I was wanting to know if there is some place I can buy them or has anybody tried to make a set of them.

Thanks"
Eric Miller

Call ARP fastners, I'm sure that they can help you out. They make the best rod bolts, head studs, ect.. on the market. Don't tell them that you are going to use the studs in an antique tractor because they will probablly cost you more. Just tell them the size and length you need. I'm sure they have a website.

Cody,
I talked to ARP today they said that if they have the 3/4 10 dye they could make them. Bad news they don"t have the 3/4 10 dye but for $1400.00 to $2000.00 they could get the dye. So if I could sell 14 sets off them for about $200.00 aset I would go ahead and do it. So if anybody is looking for a good set of head studs for a John Deere G E-mail me.

Thanks"

I have never had anything that big made by them. I know that high grade allthread is available. You might try Schoolers or Weins, I'm sure they can get you something that will hold up. Hope this helps.

Try Fastenall. They made some studs for me. About $10.00 each if I remember correctly.
