CASEPOWER: I went to a pull down here, forget where it was, but they had some classes with these type of tractors. They looked cool, but seemed kinda strange. Everyone had WAY more power than they needed. Seemed like they should have been running about 3 times faster than they were. Couldn't really figure out what the thrill was with these. There didn't seem to be much driver input. Then again, I never pulled one, so maybe I am missing something. Just my $0.02

Who's tractor and were is it located? We are now pulling Classic Modifieds V-8's up to 1957 models, with IAMO Pullers in southern IA and northern MO. I have a Farmall 300 with small block Chevy. I have pictures if you are interested, but do not know how to get them on this site. contact dcalhoun@shighway.com if you want info or pictures.

I like the tractors like this. I can never see enough old pictures of yesteryear back from the 60's and 70's when they first started building tractors for pulling. I tried to put a 350 in a stock H bell, and not have to space it forward in the frame rails. Thats why I ended up with a IH 6 cyl in a H rearend. A tractor like this, could be the "econo mod" for the lite IH pulling machines in antique pulling. Im taking the 460H to a deadweight pull, on blacktop, single rear wheeled, new 18.4 34 super all trac's, Front end is lite, so I can put just enough on the back of the frame to balance out some good launches when it starts the sled. Deadweight pulling season is about to start up in Northern Indiana, and they git serious! There is some real good pullers from around Ft wayne area that come down and well, put a whoopin on everybody. They got some tough AC's few Deere's too, turbo charged D-17's 109 AC's , lots of 2 cyl JD's. 460H is going in weighted at 4000 lbs. bout 400#s of movable weight to balance er out and make a round of 5?
