Our town is having our first antique tractor pull on the 4th of July. We have a place for the track and it's been disked up so it's black. Can someone tell us what we have to do to get it ready for tractor pulling? Thanks for any help.

Depends on the type of soil. With our clay tracks we soak it up with water a week in advance. Let it soak in for 4-5 days. Then sheepsfoot and box scrape the day before the pull. If it has rained recently maybe no water, but if you probe it and it's dry all the way down 4,000 gal. or more. Good luck.
