Allen Co. Fair in reply to CKAP PULLER, 06-24-2005 05:53:16
The pull on the 9th is at the fair grounds--thus--Allen Co. Fair pull. The fair is not going on until the following Monday--so you do not have to deal with the crowd.
The hook fee is $15.00 and payback is 50% of hook fees (1st gets 50% of that, 2nd gets 30% and 3rd gets 20%) same goes for the bonus money--we have several classes last year that pay out was over $300.00 to the winner.
As for the fast classes--if there is going to be over 200 hooks like last year--we will not run any extra classes that night. If it is a light turn out--we would be willing to add anything that there are enough pullers to make a class. I always hated to charge someone a hook fee of $15.00 if there is not at least 4 people in the class-that way the winner can at least get their hook fee back.
Hope this answered your questions--if not feel free to email CKAP.

On the pay back, the way i understand it is, if the entire intake of money for that class is $200.00 dollars, then 50% of that is paid back to the top finishers. So the winner will get 50% of the 100.00 dollars or 50.00 dollars, then does he get the extra 100.00 dollars as well. sorry probably not thinking clear. I just want to know before I come that distance and find out different. Thanks

You are correct on the 50% payback--then we will take the $100 bonus and break it down as follows:
1st gets 50% or $50.
2nd gets 30% or $30.
3rd gets 20% or $20.
Which in your example--you get $50 from hook fees and $50 from bonus money--that way everyone one who gets in the top 3 will take home some money. Not sure of the classes you pull--but several of the classes last year had 20+ hooks in the class--making payback pretty good.

We are working hard to get money into Antique pullin'--seems business and fairboards will dish out thousands for a demo derby--but not for pullin'. I don't really understand--antiques are bringing in the crowds and pullers--maybe as time goes by--everyone will know that Antique pullin' is here and going to stay around.

Not sure what you need to know that can't be found on the website, the rules, classes and directions are all contained on our website. As for the money, if all goes as last year, we were able to give the regular 50% payback plus $100.00 bonus in each class. Now I know to some that may not sound like big money--but when you pull in the classes that me and Doug pull in--well, we've had a good night just when we get our hook fees back.
Anyway, it's a good time, lots of good tractors in all the Super Farm and Modified class--we'd for sure love to have you come hook with us.
After reading the website, if you still have questions feel free to email CKAP and I'll get back with you.

Why don't you have some classes faster than 5 mph?

When we are at our home track (Foster's Farm) we always are willing to make classes for anyone who shows up. As long as the RPM's stay below 20% over (which is an insurance issue). We run the 6000 and up Modified classes "any speed" when there is enough pullers to make a class--if not and you just want to run down the track to test-n-tune your tractor--we will let you do that. We just don't have enough pullers who come week in and week out that want the faster classes. Doug and I have a few Molines that we'd love to run faster with--but 2 just doesn't make a class!!!

Noone really realizes this, but as far as the insurance is concerned, if it is not listed on your schedule and in your rules and an accident happens--they don't have to cover you. We just can't take chances on any problems with the insurance company.

What kind of tractor do you have and what classes are you interested in pullin' faster? We will for sure make a class for you, as long as you are legal on the saftey issues.
