HAVE IH MOTOR OUT OF TRUCK (YEAR UNKOWN).
IS 3.75" x 4" 6CYL AND HAS 236193R1 CAST ON BLOCK.
IS THIS SAME MOTOR AS 460 (EXCEPT FOR MANIFOLD)?
ARE THE CAMS DIFFERENT? ARE THE CLUTCHES SIMILAR?
IS THERE A BOOK AVAILABLE OR OTHER REFERENCE OUT THERE? THANKS.

Yes, you have a truck engine. Cylinder head should be the same, truck heads often have bigger
valves than tractor engines. Check casting number
to be sure. This block has a different deck height, however, and is not a bolt in replacement
for the tractor engine. There is an approximately
1/4 inch difference. Backing plate holes line up
but the ring gear will not engage the starter.
Some of the mounting holes on the tractor engine
are threaded while same location holes on truck
engine are not. Believe crank will swap. Cams and
clutches interchange. HTH

You can use truck head by using everthing from block up Head Bolts Push rods and rocker arm assy.241 ci engine had best head .Will either have to cut pistons or us after mart ones.LP head is best to use with flat top piston.

Reference materials are the two engines on the
shop floor. Don't know of any books with casting number information.
