My M-M R is in it's final stages. I hope to pull it yet this summer. I have a good idea how I am going to do it, but I am wondering about what others have tried. It is short. My hitch point HAS to be out behind the rear tire. I am also allowed a front weight bracket 11 feet from rear axle. Fill me in guys on balancing a stubby machine. Just fishing for info.

Ethan,

Do your rules require the long hitch? If so I may not be of much assistance. Since you can add a bracket to the front balancing it should only be a matter of a couple of hooks to get it figured out. On mine in the 3500 the only weight I add is to the front. We are allowed 20" from the front most part of the frame of the tractor, which on the MM's is the front of the bubble in the streeing housing. We also allow a 20" high and 18" back hitch. It takes around 100 to 150lbs to hold mine down, and I have my bracket built to hang the weights sideways. I can try to get a picture of it tomorrow if I remember the camera.

Joe

On our ZAU, the front was light, even with a stock hitch! I have yet to see one that has not had problems right off the bat with balance, but, when they did hold it down, it pulled! Chad
