I'm working on a Farmall 400 and have a question about the T/A. The tractor will have about 110 HP when finished and I was wondering if it would be best for me to replace the T/A with a staight shaft or beef up the pressure plate on the T/A clutch? Will the small clutch hold 110 HP or is there something else on the T/A that would be subject to failure? Any of you with 400's or Super M T/A's have any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I have a div 4 MTA, completely rebuilt the ta when I built the motor, it holds pretty good. I took some extra material off of the towers of the flywheel in the ta so it holds tighter when engaged. There is someone who makes a pressure plate with 3 more springs in it, but you have to be careful, to much spring pressure and the pivot towers will break off.
