Hi! Can anybody tell me if you can put 450 propane head on a dome piston motor? Is there enough clearance? Or do they need to be flat top pistons? Any other suggestions on getting more power would be appreciated. Thanks

I tried it with the IH firecrater pistons, made two pulls before #3 had the valve break because the piston was hitting it(We thought I had a bad lifter from the clicking noise). Installed a set of M&W add power pistons and havent had a problem since. Also, you could have your firecrater pistons milled down to make room.

My cousin has a M with a LP head and M&W pistons, they have a pretty tall dome on em. we set the head on without a gasket and turn the engine over, it cleared just fine. Some you have to be careful with, it wont hit the valves, or the top of the chamber, but will hit the along the sides of the chamber. Chad

The pistons came out of a SM, I'll have to check pin size.
