I was woundering if having your drawbar as short and as high as rules allow, is always the best thing? Does it matter where the chain comes off the eliminator? Thanks for the help.

Unless you are GROSSLY heavy in the front you are better with the drawbar as short and as high as possible. Notice I emphasized the word GROSSLY.

When a drawbar is short and the front end comes up, the hitch height will drop less than a taller drawbar. If you cannot get your frontend to come up, a longer drawbar has more leverage. It depends on your setup. That is my experience, but I run a long drawbar and do best on stoneboat pulling. Our club makes us run a hitch point out beyond the rear tires.

Well this is the deal. I have been pulling a different sled laitly. While runnung a longer drawbar in the past my front never came up, now on the new sled, with a longer drawbar my front does come up. Should i shorten it?

If you can shorten it and still keep your front end in the air just a little, I would do it. The length of the transfer sled chain makes a HUGE difference. There may be some better pullers out there to give advice on this, but if you can lift your front end with the short hitch, it is worth a try.

The length of the chain and the height of the chain at the sled.In seems to me you need to lengthen you,re drawbar to lighten the front end.
