I am about 90-95hp now but would like to be able to really give them AC's a good woopen. I can hang with them now except for in the open classes when i am in third gear i tend to run out of motor in the 3750 class but not always. In second gear i have all of the motor that i want. In 4250 open i have to pull in second b/c i dont have enough motor at all to pull in third gear.

If you were 90-95 hp you should be able to pull 4500 in 3rd gear!! easily!!! Especially with a motor that big. Ive pulled a 95 hp H for years ran 4th gear in 3500-4250, never stalled it, never dropped rpms below stock!! I cant kill it 3rd gear!! 4th gear lugs it at 4500, but can still do it, at 270 ci inches. Im sorry, I dont think that engine is that strong,,,, unless it is not tuned right,,, What tires are you running on that H? I run 15.5's and 14.9's on mine, ever ran a compression check on it? at 275,psi I d belive your close to 95,, anything less than that,, you got less than what you think. Im not knocking you sir,,, just, something dont sound right,,,, Chad

I wouldnt go bigger. I did, and it did puke, lot of wasted cash. whats the problem?? not fast enough for ground speed? too much power for lower gears? Ill tell ya,, Ive only power stalled my big H only once,, it has power and torque, just have to put it to the ground, usually, if you have the power, just have to balance it out,,, now, there is a few things you can do to improve how the engine runs,, but, ifyou dont have the balance to match,, you not going to see results. a 90 hp H, can whip all over a 120hp WD, if you hook up the H, dont care how fast it goes,, if you know your sled or sleds, you know what to expect for setup. dont go faster, go consistant,, ChadS

CHADS GIVE ME A CALL 704-309-1566 .HP DEPENDS ON COMPRESSIN RATIO MORE THAN JUST COMPRESSION PER CYLINDER, CAM , VALEVES, HEAD ,ETC,MY OPION ONLY.

Hi Jim! Its hard to say what he has,,,,there could be more to it,,, I mean, he could have 18.4x34 or 38's, which is an awful big tire,, that could be killing its torque, even 16.9s is quite a tire for an H,, I know, thats what you run,, but, you do have a well built engine,,,, he has the cubes,, cams can help,, valves too, but who's to say its not some wild grind that dont work,, Me, I run a lemmons cam,, I think that is a good cam grind,, its a few years old,, may not even be close to what they are doing now,,, id say if he is running 18.4s or 16.9's, he needs a smaller diameter tire to give back some power to the engine,, or, its something else. You know as well as I do,, if the compression is not above 270,, its not 95 hp, dont care what cam, valves etc etc,, maybe he does, maybe he dont, dont know many builders that build 300 cube Hs that arent bumping in the area of 270-300 psi of compression, and get the numbers in a relitive perspective. it could be anything,,, tires, engine, gears, who knows,, that is holding it back, or, just not up to snuff to get that hp. maybe when he bought it, and got it running, they told him,, yeah its 90-95, and he has never had it on a dyno,,,, seen for himself,,, I dunno,,,,, , Chad

What are the dimensions of your 350 engine now? How many HP are you geting now with what you got? 300 cubes is pretty big already for a 350 block. I have a spare C-175 block that I'm wondering how big I can go with it as well.

Cheers!

Sid
