Been a lot of discussion about engine block rules, amd rules in general lately. Seems like some folks want to make a new rule everytime they get beat. How bout just preparing one tractor for every class and let everybody pull it? That way if you get beat it may just be that you got beat and not because the other fella has a better "block" or something. Seriously, I think if we pullers worried more about making our own iron competitive in the classes we pull instead of what Joe Blow is doing to his we'd be better off and have a lot more fun. This is not to say there shouldn't be rules or the rules should be ignored, but we shouldn't take something simple and make it complicated. Some of these folks and their rules remind me of polititians, and that's not exactly a compliment.

I totally agree with this idea. I am 21 years old and have a year left in college. As anyone that has put themselves through an undergraduate form of education knows....cash is something a college student has very little of. I have been able to maintain two very successful pulling tractors on my budget. I think these guys that gripe about everyone elses engines and whatever else they want to go on about need to just put a little brainpower into their own machines. I have beat tractors that have more in their engines than I do in my entire rig. I am not braggin', just simply saying it can be done.

hey, you've just made an excellent point! it just makes me agitated to see all this bickering and whining from these antique guys. back in the 70's and 80's all we had was farmstock for the local guys then a few got together and wanted antique only classes and ruined the farmstock. now look what they've done to the antiques. they need 10 divisions for everyone to pull. sad

It would be great if everything was still farm stock. After all on regular farm tractor pull nights all the antiques show up anyhow, why not do away with antique. I think the newest tractor we have pull on our circuit is a 1974 oliver, and in the turbo class nothing is newer than the farmall 66 series. It seems to be that way all over, so why bother seperating them. Just my oppinion, Greg H.

If you are like my buddy leon clute, you would recognize the fact that there is a limit to when a tractor is not a tractor any more but strictly a puller. The people that modify a tractor so that it is not able perform a extended period pull without overheating, throwing a rod, or busting a hub is simply not a tractor but a hot rod. There should be hotrod and non hotrod pulls. Oh and by the way I have outpulled a lot of green oliver 66's and 77's and jd a's,b's,and g's with a good old all american farmall f12, super h, and m.
