Sounds like the intake is too small as well. New manifolds will take both H carb, and the bigger SH and M carbs, the holes in the flange are slotted to fit both carb sizes. Double check for a vaccum leak on the intake as well, if it has been apart recently, say 50hrs or less, and hasnt been retightened, it may be sucking air. If thats the case, it may have burned the intake gaskets and allow more of a leak to occur. I use red spray tack on all intake and exhaust gaskets, just to aid in sealing up the intake. I think you should be able to get the Zentih H carb to feed it fuel, but, if you did rejet it, it probably ran richer than it should, which means not enough air. M carb with a #25 venturi should be sufficient, and not be too big, SH-350 had a #23, and that helps low end torque, but you will sacrifice a little 540 HP, but will lug very hard under a pull. The #25 will give you both low end torque, and not lose so much at 540, The new style intake is alot better than the old stockers, lot bigger intake runners above the carb, almost 40% bigger than an origianl H manifold. To set up a M carb, Id say the jetting will be close,,, you may have to jet it up one, or two sizes if that, since you have a 152 engine. Try to stay away from the 300-350 carbs, with the idle screw in the flange, they create vaccum leaks internally, and will give you fits, where the older carbs dont. Both the intake and carb shold giveit a better running characteristic, mite give you a HP or two, not much, but it will run better. ChadS
